End of Week 10

Plant Love is becoming much more organized! That's good! We had three small accidents this week, first, I cut my finger with a saw, then Bri cut her finger with a saw two days later. Then Sal stepped on a piece of wood with a screw in it sticking up, the screw went through his shoe, but didn't break the skin on the bottom of his foot. That is why it is important to keep things picked up and watch where we are stepping. Luckily, the screw didn't pierce Sal's skin.

Here are some of the things going on this week:

Students are also going through cashier training, learning how to make change. The bike projects have been on hold, but should pick up again soon.

Students have written some new blog posts as well! You can always see their blogs by going to our Member Blogs page!

Jonathan published "Teacher Spotlight"-an article in the Panther Tales!

C-Train Storage Project Phase 7

We are continuing to get our storage built so we can have a nice clean place to do our garden projects.
Here are the plans for our second shelf which will hold the scrap materials. We had to remove the BackPack Hooks to make room for this new design.

We put on the studs after cutting them to the right length.

We cut the board to make the shelf.

Then we installed the shelf and fastened it down with screws.

I got pretty hungry by this time, so I decided to have a few garden lollipops.

Then Jesus made a few hacks to our field table.

A little later, GJ planted up the last of the chives.

What is inside a lock?

C-train Storage Project Phase 6

We are so thankful to Mr. Mather and the guys in maintenance for supporting Plant Love. They are always very friendly, they give great advice for using tools, they are always willing to help with projects, and they even donate materials!

Here Valentino is cutting 6 inch sections of PVC pipe for our safety glasses project.

Cool Garden Stuff

Ants!

C Train Storage Project Phase 5

We continued to install pegboards along the West Wall

Here is a better picture of the plans we had. We needed a place for the rakes and shovels.

Could you imagine what would happen if you stepped on this part of the rake?
